The Goring & Streatley Concert Band
will be saying a sad goodbye to their conductor, Andrew McBirnie, at the end of the year.
McBirnie has decided to devote more time to his composition work.
McBirnie has been Musical Director of the band for eight years, during which time he has brought the band on considerably. He has broadened the range of popular musical medleys, marches and folk tunes for our open-air events at fetes, regattas and bandstands (including Henley and Reading) and into modern and contemporary classical music for our more formal concerts - Schoenberg's 'Theme and Variations', Philip Drew's 'Suite for Concert Band' and David Bedford's 'Sea and Sky and Golden Hill'. The band is looking for someone with the necessary experience to help the band continue its journey.
See more details on the band's web site (link above).
