Summer Magic raised over £600 on Saturday
11th July when the Nottingham Concert Band (Robert Parker) performed for the
first time in St Peter"s Church in Ruddington in Nottinghamshire in the UK.
The proceeds from the event will help to equip The Parents" School, Ngora, in
the Teso province of North-East Uganda, a project supported by the Church.
The concert included a wide variety of much from
Oliver! to Holsts's 2nd Suite in F and Frank Erickson's transcription for wind
band of Bolero.
Nottingham Concert Band was delighted to welcome
soprano Sarah Kay as the special guest for the evening, accompanied by pianist
Angela Kay. Sarah treated the audience to a diverse programme, including Domine
Deus by Vivaldi, Mozart’s Laudate Dominum, John Rutter’s version of All
Things Bright & Beautiful and The Lord is my Shepherd arranged by Howard
Goodall.
