The Woodley
Concert Band (John Lawes) of Berkshire UK, is again teaming up with Simon
Hutson from the Reading Operatic Society.
John Lawes, conductor at the operatic society, was so impressed with Hutson's
performance of The Mikado that he approached Hutson to sing with the band
that he also conducts.
Hutson last sang with the band in Spring 2007, and the audience were so
impressed that the band has decided to break with tradition and ask the same
guest to appear at two concerts in a row.
Hutson will be performing all of his works with the band, including
renditions of Gilbert and Sullivan, Verdi and Rodgers and Hammerstein.
The band has been in existence since 1974 and now boasts 45 members.
Hutson and the band will be in concert on Saturday 13th October at the
Bearwood Theatre in Sindlesham at 7:30PM.
